Ureteral realignment with combined access as a treatment of complete ureteral transection.

Ureteral realignment using a ureteral stent can be an alternative treatment in cases of complete ureteral transection and may avoid the need for reconstructive surgery. The combined access can help the passage of the guidewire through the injured area and the threading of the urinary system of the patient. We present a case of a 38-year-old man with multiples abdominal surgeries, who underwent a complete ureteral section treated with ureteral realignment with combined access. The subsequent evolution was favourable, with resolution of the ureteral injury at the acute time, and without the presence of long-term obstruction. Purpose: Urethroplasty with a buccal mucosal graft provides excellent clinical results but it may also cause oral complications in some cases. The mucosa covering the lateral and under surface of the tongue is identical in structure with that lining the rest of the oral cavity. Lingual mucosal graft urethroplasty for anterior urethral reconstruction.

Objective: Evaluate the use of lingual mucosal graft (LMG) in anterior urethral strictures.Methods: From January 2001 to December 2006, 29 men (mean age, 48.5 yr) with anterior urethral strictures underwent graft urethroplasty with LMG. The mean length of stricture was 3.6 cm. Patients with bulbar, penile, or bulbopenile strictures received one-stage dorsal free graft urethroplasties. In patients with failed hypospadias repair we performed a two-stage urethroplasty. Criteria for successful reconstruction were spontaneous voiding with no postvoid residual urine and no postoperative instrumentation of any kind. <b><i>Introduction:</i></b> To evaluate incidence, symptoms and management of postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) after urologic surgery based on our experience. <b><i>Material and Methods:</i></b> Database was searched for clinically evident POPF after urologic surgery between 1998 and 2014. Fistulae were graded using the POPF classification. Clinical course of every POPF patient was evaluated. <b><i>Results:</i></b> During this time, 3,200 surgeries for renal, adrenal and retroperitoneal pathologies were performed. Abstract Objectives To report on our 2-year experience in teaching transurethral resection (TUR) of bladder tumors to five trainees. We analyzed their problems, as well as those of the teachers, and present our solutions. Methods Between April 2000 and March 2002, five residents and three members of the staff took part in a training program to teach TUR of the bladder. From a total of 692 patients with bladder tumors admitted for treatment to our department, 417 were selected for the study. These 417 had papillary tumors of small to medium size (maximum 25 mm in diameter). An unusual case of ureteral ectopia in the seminal vesicle: diagnosis and surgical management.

We report the case of a young man who presented with numerous episodes of ipsilateral epididymitis. Selected imaging studies with consideration of urogenital embryology lead to the rare diagnosis of a dysplastic kidney with ureteral ectopia in the seminal vesicle. After nephroureterectomy and vesiculectomy, convalescence was uneventful. No specific symptoms, equivocal diagnostic findings and the small number of patients limit the surgical experience in diseases of the seminal vesicle. Suprainguinal extravesical extirpation, however, appears to be an excellent operative approach in cases of unilateral seminal vesicle cysts.
Presentation, Management and Long-Term Outcome of Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction in Duplex Kidneys.

Ureteropelvic junction obstruction in association with a duplex collecting system is a rare but challenging upper urinary tract pathology. We report our 21-year experience with this anomaly in terms of presentation, diagnostic evaluation and management.We retrospectively identified all patients with ureteropelvic junction obstruction in a duplex collecting system between 1991 and 2012. We reviewed each case for presenting symptoms, anatomy and management. Median followup was 10.8 years (range 2 to 22).Ureteropelvic junction obstruction in duplex kidneys was diagnosed in 21 patients.
